Slyme
Electric green striker that goes from transparent to milky/semi-opaque depending on heat; work cooler in a soft reducing flame for best opacity and to avoid reboil and scumming.
Outcomes
-
Milky to semi-opaque electric green strikeWork cooler in a soft reducing flame to develop the milky semi-opaque strike and prevent reboil and scumming.
-
Transparent electric green under high heatHigher heat pushes the glass transparent; this is reversible — flame strike can bring back a ghostly milky haze.
-
Ghostly milky haze after flame strike from transparentStrike from transparent state in the flame to develop a ghostly, milky haze rather than full opacity.
Working notes
- Avoid working thick over clear — COE runs a little high and compatibility may be an issue.
- Prevent reboil and scumming by working cooler and in a soft reducing flame.
- Satin variant can look 'dirty' when taken transparent — work cool for best results.
- Pink Slyme is a pink-purple variant with the same milk-strike behavior but requires less gas.
