Dense Slyme 3
Electric green striker that turns milky/semi-opaque in a soft reducing flame or stays transparent under higher heat with a ghostly haze; Dense Slyme 3 works thinner for the same effect or where more milkiness is desired.
Outcomes
-
Milky to semi-opaque electric green — ghostly, opaque strike achieved by working cool in a soft reducing flameWork cool in a soft reducing flame to keep the glass milky and semi-opaque; this also prevents reboil and scumming. Dense Slyme 3 can be used thinner to achieve the same milky effect.
-
Transparent electric green with a ghostly milky haze when flame-struckWorking at higher heat drives the glass transparent; a flame strike can bring back a ghostly, milky haze over the transparent base.
-
Reboiled or scummy surface — undesirable result from overheating in reductionWorking too hot in a reducing flame can cause reboil and scumming on the surface — keep heat low to avoid this.
Working notes
- Work cool in a soft reducing flame to prevent reboil and scumming
- COE runs a little high — Slymes may not like being used thick over clear
- Avoid thick applications over clear glass
