Canary
A translucent cadmium yellow, less dense and less prone to boiling than Super Canary; work cool in the upper flame or encase to protect the color.
Outcomes
-
Translucent yellow, about three-quarters the saturation of Super CanaryWork cool in the upper part of the flame, or encase, to prevent cadmium boiling. Less susceptible to boiling than Super Canary due to lower density and translucency.
-
Boiled/degraded surface from overheatingWorking too hot or too deep in the flame causes cadmium boiling — surface degradation the prose flags as a failure mode.
Working notes
- Currently out of production, pending reformulation.
- Work cool in the upper part of the flame or encase to prevent cadmium boiling.
- Do not overheat — boiling is a failure mode for all cadmium colors in this family.
