Northstar Glassworks
Yellow
Transparent golden yellow in oxidizing flame; darkens and becomes opaque in neutral-to-reducing conditions. Can be flame- or kiln-struck.
Outcomes
-
transparent golden yellowWork in an oxidizing flame to achieve a clear, transparent golden yellow.
-
darkened, increasingly opaque yellowIn a neutral to slightly reducing flame the glass begins to darken and turn more opaque; flame or kiln striking can develop this further.
Working notes
- Neutral or reducing flame will darken and opacify the color — adjust flame chemistry to control transparency.
